The Young Alexandra Society (YAS) is a charity society at the University of King's College. In addition to helping out in the community, they assist in hosting one of the biggest social events of the year: YAS Ball at the Westin Nova Scotian Hotel. It is not uncommon to see up to 800 students and friends of the university buzzing in and out of the two ballrooms on the second floor. Proceeds from this year's event, which took place on Friday, went to the Veith Street Gallery Studio Association, an organization that supports artists with disabilities and related challenges.
