Dalhousie armed robbery
Campus computer store held at gunpoint
At around noon Tuesday, a man armed with a gun robbed Dalhousie University's campus computer store.
He entered the Personal Computer Purchase Centre (PCPC) and ordered employees to fill a grey Adidas duffel bag with laptops and money. The total value is unknown.
The man is described as white and about six feet tall. He was wearing a brown hoodie, black sunglasses and a bandana over his face.
No one was hurt. Both Dalhousie security and Halifax Regional Police were quick to respond to the scene, located behind Howe Hall on Coburg Road.
There is an ongoing investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to call the police.
Alan Shaver, vice-president academic, sent an e-mail to students saying there is no further risk to the community.
"Events of this type are rare at Dal. Indeed we are fortunate to live in a place that is, relative to most, safe," he said.
