Flooding at Dalhousie disrupts Human Resources

Office workers temporarily relocated after water heater bursts

comments(0)

Extensive flooding occurred in the Dalhousie Registrar's Office and Human Resources office in the Henry Hicks Building late Tuesday night.

A water heater from the floor above burst during the night and the offices below were soaked with ankle-deep water when staff arrived early this morning.

"I would say more than a swimming pool full of water was in here this morning," an HR representative said about the situation she faced when she got to work.

She says that although all personnel have been relocated for the day and are continuing to work, students will be unable to access their files and transcripts at this time.

"Who knew when we woke up this morning that this is what we would face?"

A clean up is now underway and HR personnel are unsure when they will be able to gain access to their offices.
