King’s student union says no to retroactive funding
Societies denied money after failing to follow the rules
The King’s Students’ Union is holding firm on its rule concerning retroactive requests for funds.
At its Sunday bi-weekly meeting, the union voted against several motions made by societies for funding of events that already took place.
The King’s Rowing Society requested $500 to cover costs for fees made back in September.
The union decided to rule against the request, saying in order for a request to be taken seriously, it must be filed within a reasonable timeframe.
It also motioned to delay talks on the $3,200 request made by the Contemporary Studies Program, saying it needed more detailed discussion for the large request.
The union has a $23,677.00 budget to deal with societies year round. The remaining amount for this year is $7,222.38.
