Universities close due to weather conditions

Halifax's universities are closed Thursday morning after Wednesday night's storm

Universities in Halifax closed Thursday morning after heavy winds, snow and freezing rain hit Halifax Wednesday evening. Nova Scotia Community College is closed until 10:30 a.m. and will reasess later this morning if they will be opening the campus for the rest of the day. NASCAD and AST have cancelled all classes until noon. Saint Mary's, Dalhousie and the University of King's College have all cancelled classes until 11 a.m. and will reassess later this morning if they will be opening at all today. Dalhousie used its emergency text messaging system to send students a message at 8:40 a.m. stating that: "Due to adverse weather conditions, Dalhousie University is closed at this time. To be updated by 11 a.m."
