Football

The Saint Mary’s Huskies posted a 25-2 victory over the St. Francis Xavier X-Men on Saturday in the Atlantic University Sports semifinals. Huskies quarterback Jack Creighton completed 8 of 18 passes for 107 yards and a touchdown. Rob Jubenville was named the player of the game, leading the Huskies defense with 8.5 tackles and 1.5 sacks. The Huskies will play the Acadia Axemen in the AUS final this Saturday in Wolfville.

Soccer

Dalhousie Tigers are AUS women’s soccer champions for the first time in ten years after blanking the UPEI Panthers 2-0 in Fredericton on Sunday. Goaltender Taryn McKenna posted the shutout for the Tigers. The Tigers travel to McGill University in Montreal to compete in the CIS Championship this week.

The Saint Mary’s Huskies defeated the UPEI Panthers 6-0 to win their second consecutive AUS men’s soccer championship banner in Sydney on Sunday. Striker Elvir Gigolaj led the charge with four goals. The Huskies will play in the the Canadian Interuniversity Sport Championship taking place at the University of Victoria this week.

Lacrosse

Duane Davis scored five goals for the Dalhousie Tigers as they beat St. FX X-Men 13-4 to take the men’s field lacrosse crown in Halifax on Sunday. Tiger's players Jamie Dunbar, Rob Griffith, Tom Allen, Matt Dunbar and Mike Cowan were named first team all-stars. The Tigers beat Mount Allison Mounties 13-8 to reach the finals. Saint Mary's Huskies came up short losing 13-12 to the X-Men in the semifinals
