3 indecent acts in 7 days

Multiple reports of flashers near Sexton campus


Dalhousie University has issued a security bulletin to warn students about a string of reported indecent acts near the Sexton Campus in the past week.

On Nov. 10, a woman reported to Halifax Regional Police that a man approached her from behind and asked her for the time while she was walking near Harvey Street. According to the report, she turned around to discover the man had his pants open. She ran home and contacted the police. The man was described in the report as a black male, in his late 20s to 30s and 5’7” with a slim build.

The second incident took place Nov. 15, at the corner of Queen Street and Morris Street. The woman reported that a man dropped his pants and masturbated in front of her as she walked along the street. The report describes the man as a white male, in his 30s and approximately 180 lbs.

The latest incident happened on Nov. 16 in the parking lot near the Architecture “H” Building. The report state that a woman was approached from behind by a male who whispered, “Do you have the time?” The student walked away quickly and said in the report that the man might have exposed himself. The report says she described the man as a white male, around 5’5”, with severe acne.

Dalhousie University says it hasn’t changed any of its security practices because of the incidents.
