Got Talent hopefuls joke, jive and jam

Eight of Dalhousie University's most talented performers took over the Grawood Wednesday night. They're vying for the $1,000 prize in the Dalhousie's Got Talent competition.

Each act performed in front of a large crowd and a panel of judges, which included last year's winner, Rosemary Reid.

Kale O'Neill and Ashley Hill performed cover songs on their respective guitar and keyboard. Meaghan Marshall sang a broadway number from Wicked and Quan Zhou brought the crowd to its feet with a wild rock music performance.

Stephen Leblanc joked his way through a comedy routine and Magic Mike invited members of the audience on stage to help him perform tricks.

Chris Wainwright and Justin Cull of Kind of a Big Deal made ladies in the bar swoon with a guitar and beat box-driven, boy-band-dominated, '90s mash up.

And last but not least, Iain MacNeil, George Woodhouse and Anthony Manuele of IGA closed the show with two original songs that blew the judges away.

It's up to fans to decide which acts make the next round. Students can vote on the Dal's Got Talent website until 11p.m. on Jan. 26.
