On a chilly day in early December, we met Carolyn Bentzen. It was her rich-green leopard-print tights that caught our eye (There seems to be a trend here in the Unews style features. Recall our first feature.).

Carolyn, a Masters student in the Library and Information Studies program at Dalhousie, was strolling across the Dal campus when we stopped her for our feature. Her outfit is all black with a hint of deep green and some grey and white, but it's her clever layering technique that makes it so eye-catching.

Her black tunic, under a green sweater, under a grey hoodie, under a black leather jacket, all at-varying lengths, is a hit. Her black-and-white scarf, which came from Copenhagen, tops off the look. Even her tights have been layered under high black socks.

This is how layering is done, folks.

She punched up her look with some metallic accessories: her belt, earrings, and her ring.

"Most of my clothes come from second hand sources," she said. "Basically I'm wearing 50 per cent second hand."

Carolyn's hip layered look will be our final style feature for the fall semester.
